A: No, this service is not available. You can take cash from an ATM using the gift card for a fee.
Q: Can I make a purchase that is more than the available balance on the card?
A: No, the card must be used for the amount left on the card or a lesser amount. However, you could ask the merchant to split the payment. If the purchase is $50 and you have $30 left on the card, you could ask the merchant to take two forms of payment and use the $30 toward the purchase.
Q: Can I use my card at a restaurant?
A: Yes, but it will not work if the amount on the card is less than the bill.
Most restaurant merchants process the bill with the potential for a 20% tip. It will only clear for the amount you approve. If you have $50 on the card and the restaurant bill is $50, the card will not work because the restaurant has the 20% tip built-in when they swipe the card. If your bill is for $30 the transaction will go through.
